Fine Antique Wrought Iron Green Paint & Gold Leaf Painted Victorian Coat Stand
Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this stunning original continental circa 1880 wrought iron coat stand with period green paint and gold leaf accents. This is a bit of a unicorn in the world of coat stands, it's a very classically European style, most likely French, the form is not common and does come up for sale every few years or so, the rarity is the colour, I have never seen an original paint one before and especially not in green with gold accents, it is super rare, highly collectable and about as on trend as you could hope to find anywhere.
In terms of the condition it is straight and solid, the paint has a nice patination and looks very artistic from all angles, we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom.
