16 1/2 by 16 inch Indiana US route 40 highway marker. Made to the 1926 specification that introduced the US highway system. Indiana used this style of route marker until the late 1950s.
Condition is as shown in the photos. Sign is embossed black highlights on white paint on steel. It lies completely straight and flat and has been restored to the correct colors and finish.
